FurlMayberry Day at the Tennessee Valley Fair will be Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Chilhowee Park fairgrounds in Knoxville.
Sponsored by Blount Today, Clayton Bank and Trust, WVLT-TV Channel 8 and Jack FM, Mayberry Day will feature Sammy Sawyer as Barney Fife and a host of Mayberry events and characters.
Events include the Whistling Contest, Opie Look-a-like contest, Barney Impersonator, Mayberry Trivia and Jesse James Pie Eating Contest.
Mayberry Day festivities, which will take place in the Pepsi Community Entertainment Tent, are included as part of the regular Tennessee Valley Fair admission. The fair runs Sept. 5-14. Mayberry Day festivities are 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Sept. 13.
Fair admission is $9 for adults, $7 for seniors and $5 for children ages 6 to 11. Children under age 6 are admitted free.
The Tennessee Valley Fair is held at 3301 East Magnolia Avenue in Knoxville.
