The Maryville College Youth Chorale is looking for young and talented singers, ages 9 to 14, for a fun and spirited holiday concert. Auditions for the chorale will be at 4 p.m., Sept. 9 in room 103 of the College’s Bartlett Hall.
The audition will consist of a pitch matching warm-up, echo clapping and singing the first verse of “America.” Students will not be required to stay the entire time. Those auditioning will sing and then leave when they have finished.
Martha Robinson, music instructor and choir director at Maryville Intermediate School, is director of the Maryville College Youth Chorale. A national board-certified music teacher and concert pianist, Robinson has taught students from elementary through high school.
Weekly rehearsals will begin 5-6:30 p.m., Sept. 16, and continue every Tuesday in rooms 102 and 103 of Bartlett Hall. Participation fee is $75 per semester. Scholarships are available.
