Anthony Wise, vice president of the Learning Division at Pellissippi State Technical Community College, has graduated from the Academy for Leadership and Development, a yearlong program that advances organizational leadership in post-secondary institutions.
The Academy for Leadership and Development was created by the Chair Academy, a division of the Maricopa Community College District in Mesa, Ariz. The program includes on-site training, a practicum experience and a mentor and coaching component. Topics covered include the role of the organizational leader, effective team management, strategic planning, productive conflict management, behavioral work styles and diversity appreciation.
Wise has been teaching with Pellissippi State since 1998. He served as department head for Liberal Arts from 2004 until becoming a vice president in 2007.
